Skryne Bow out to Strong Navan O’Mahony’s side

Skryne’s ambitions it the Senior Football Championship for 2014 came to an end at the hands of old rivals Navan O’Mahony’s in Páirc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon.  By the time the eleventh minute had elapsed this match was effectively over as the Navan men had a commanding lead over Skryne when they were ahead by a goal and seven points to no score.  In fact it took until the sixteenth minute before Donie Ryan […]

Skryne Too strong for Oldcastle

Skryne 1- 15, Oldcastle 0 – 4 Having already lost in this year’s championship too Wolfe Tones, Skryne went to Kilmainham to play Oldcastle needing a win to stay in this year’s competition. With the pitch in splendid form and a dry overcast evening, conditions were perfect for the game.  However, it turned out to be a very one sided affair with Skryne posting 1 – 15 to just 0 – 4 for […]

Skryne Advance with win over Blackhall Gaels.

Skryne 3 – 13, Blackhall Gaels 1 – 16 Skryne took both points in this Senior Football Championship clash with Blackhall Gaels which was played in Dunshaughlin on Friday evening.  This was a real roller coaster of a game with more twists and turns that an average Irish weather forecast.  Games have often been described as “a game of two halves”.  This would best be described, from a Skryne point of view, as “a […]

Skryne Get Their Championship back on Track with win over Duleek Bellewstown

Skryne 2 – 11 Duleek Bellewstown 0 – 14 Needing a win, after their loss to Wolfe Tones two weeks ago, Skryne got this year’s Senior Championship back on track with a win over neighbours Duleek Bellewstown, in Stamullen on Saturday night. However with twenty eight minutes on the clock such an outcome looked very unlikely as Duleek led by nine points to two after they dominated the first half completely. Two late points […]

Tones Overcome Skryne

The ability of Wolfe Tones to get goals coupled with Skryne’s difficulty in the same department was the main difference between these two teams in the first round of this years senior championship.  The game had an early throw-in at Páirc Táilteann on Sunday and playing into a strong wind in the first half Skryne looked to have the better of their opponents in the first twenty minutes or so.  Non-the-less they still fell […]

Disappointment as Skryne Bow out.

Skryne bowed out of the senior football championship last night (13 Sept) as Wolfe Tones earned a semi-final spot with a 3 – 12 to 3 – 10 victory in Pairc Tailteann.  However heading into the final quarter Wolfe Tones thought they had this one safely under the bellt when they led by 3 – 10 to 1 – 8 thanks to goals from Eanna Harrington and Cian Ward.  Many in the attendance thought that […]
