Davis Cup Final Win For Skryne

Skryne  3-24 Fingal Ravens 3-08

Davis Cup Final

Skryne overcame Fingal Ravens in the Davis Family Cup final played in well appointed McDermott Park in Garristown on Thursday last. On a lovely balmy evening, ideal for good football, this highscoring match kept the small attendance entertained throughout.
Skryne began brightly and Paddy Fox opened the scoring with an excellent goal when he raced through the Ravens defence and hit an unstoppable shot to the net after four minutes. He followed this up with a point and Skryne with their midfield and forwards on song went on to lead by 1-9 to 1-1 after 20 minutes. Then Fingal Ravens decided to up their game and proceded to attack the Skryne defence in numbers. So much so that by half time they had not only hauled back the deficit but went on to lead by a point – 3-5 to 1-10.
