Skryne GFC want to wish all their members, friends and supporters a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year. Especially those who are abroad and won’t get home this Christmas, they are always in our thoughts at this time. Here’s hoping for a successful 2014 both on and of the field.

The Underage section is by far the largest part of our club, with 148 children registered on the boys side alone from Under 6 up to Minor (U18) last year. The Underage Committee is made up of a relatively small committee that manage the training, matches, PR, fundraising, and general administration of the underage section. Total Success for Skryne and Donaghmore/Ashbourne in “Red or Black” Event in Ashbourne. In what turned out to be a cracking night’s fun, Skryne and Donaghmore/Ashbourne clubs ran the “Red or Black” event on Sunday night 28 October in the magnificent event centre in the Donaghmor/Ashbourne complex. Today was the last day of the season for the U8′s from the boys and girls sides of the club. Great progress has been made through the season. There have been lots of matches, between Go-Games blitzes, Summerhill League, and plenty of challenge games in between. Seneschalstown were our hosts for the final Meath GAA Go-Games blitz of the year on Saturday 5th October. Throughout the year we have had a large enough squad to make two teams, with U8 Manager Aidan O’Connor taking one team and mentor Des Manning the other. Skryne U10s wrapped up their participation in the 2013 Summerhill League on Saturday 21st September at the annual finals day hosted by Summerhill GFC. The finals day brings together all all of the teams that participated in the challenge for 2013. Our first game on the day was against neighbours Ratoath.
