Skryne Exit Under 21 Championship in Foggy Kilberry

Skryne 0 – 13; Simonstown 2 – 17 Skryne bowed out of this years under 21 championship in a match which looked very unlikely to proceed at the appointed time in Kilberry on Sunday 12 October.  However, having waited for over half an hour, referee Jason Smyth, who obviously has contact with a higher authority, decided to get the match under way despite extreme difficulty in seeing either goal from the centre of the […]

Updated Code of Behaviour (Underage) 2014

Attached please find a link to the new Code of Behaviour (Underage) that comes into effect on 1 November 2014. This is a joint Code shared by all of the Gaelic Games Associations. This, the 5th version of the Code, replaces all previous editions of the Code of Behaviour when working with children and young people. The Code you will note is but one section, albeit a vital section, of our overall Code of Best […]

U6 Challenge Match

There was very poor visibility in Ratoath this morning with the fog, but that had no effect on our brilliant Under 6 team who never took their eyes off the ball! This was the last day of the season for Skryne and we fielded two teams against hosts Ratoath in this challenge game. Of course it’s non-competitive at this age but you wouldn’t think that to watch the determination in their faces as they blocked, […]

Skryne Bow out to Strong Navan O’Mahony’s side

Skryne’s ambitions it the Senior Football Championship for 2014 came to an end at the hands of old rivals Navan O’Mahony’s in Páirc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon.  By the time the eleventh minute had elapsed this match was effectively over as the Navan men had a commanding lead over Skryne when they were ahead by a goal and seven points to no score.  In fact it took until the sixteenth minute before Donie Ryan […]

Skryne Win B League FL 5 Final

Skryne 3 – 12 Curraha 2 – 8 Having beaten them in an earlier round Curraha must have felt quietly confident about playing this B League Div 5 final in Páirc Tailteann on Friday. However, on the night the old Skryne tradition of playing every minute of the game, as if life itself depended on it, was the quality which won the match for the Tara men.  Led by the brilliant Johnny Quinn Skryne got […]

U16 Div1 Final

The Skryne Under 16 boys played St Colmcilles in the final of the U16 Div1 Summer League in Pairc Tailteann on Tuesday 19th August. This was the 2nd time that these two teams met in a final in Pairc Tailteann, with last one being under 14 which Cilles won. So this was going to be a big game for Skryne. Skryne started the better of the two sides with Paddy Carpenter scoring 3 goals in […]
