Feis Cup. Group B – Round 7. Skryne 2-10 Ratoath 2-12

Ratoath cling on for a narrow victory  Skryne 2-10 Ratoath 2-12 Feis Cup. Group B – Round 7 The big story before this game was the return of Liam Harnan to the position of Banisteoir for Skryne, a position he last held when he lead Skryne to their most recent Keegan Cup victory in 2010. The Meath legend will have fond memories of his last stint as Manager of Skryne, but may have been having […]

Premier Football Championship. Division 5 – Round 2. Skryne 0-13 St. Pauls 1-07

VICTORY FOR SKRYNE’S THIRD TEAM Skryne 0-13 St. Pauls 1-07 Premier Football Championship. Division 5 – Round 2.  Skryne’s third team produced an excellent performance against St. Paul’s first team in this Premier Division 5 Championship game, played in a heatwave in Skryne. This was one occasion when the water breaks were a necessity rather than a hinderance as very few players had experienced these conditions before. Having said that both teams coped very well […]

Feis Cup. Group B – Round 6. Seneschalstown 1-11 Skryne 2-13

SKRYNE OVERCOME SENESCHALSTOWN Seneschalstown 1-11 Skryne 2-13 Feis Cup. Group B – Round 6 Skryne made the short journey to neighbours Seneschalstown for this Feis Cup match and came away with a well deserved five point victory. Although probably already out of contention in this competition Skryne seemed to be much more up for the challenge than their rivals to whom the result was more important. Both teams were short a number of regulars but […]

Congratulations Katie Keane

CONGRATULATIONS to Katie Keane on her selection to the U17 Shelbourne Woman’s National League team and U16 Ireland squad. Katie started her journey with us at U8s Gaelic football in Skryne Ladies GFC. As she rose up through the ages, Katie showed promise as a skilled forward, but her true talent as a gifted goalkeeper soon shone through. Enjoying success with her club at U12, U13, U14 & U15 levels . Katie  also played for […]

Premier Football Championship. Division 5 – Round 1. Ballinabrackey 1-24 Skryne 2-02

Ballinabrackey rout Skryne Ballinabrackey 1-24 Skryne 2-02 Premier Football Championship. Division 5 – Round 1. Skryne had to travel to the Offaly border for their first round championship game against Ballinabrackey. Skryne like their Division 1 counterparts reached the final of this competition last time around and so would have been optimistic about their chances in this year’s competition. Skryne’s third team were missing almost half a dozen players from the team that lined out […]

Premier Football Championship. Division 1 – Round 1. Trim 4-12 Skryne 2-09

Slick Trim see off Skryne Trim 4-12 Skryne 2-09 Premier Football Championship. Division 1 – Round 1. Skryne travelled to Trim yesterday evening to kick off their Premier Football Championship campaign. Skryne’s last game in this competition was the final in September 2020 where they lost out to Donaghmore/Ashbourne.  Trim looked up for this game from the very off and their speed and mobility was something that would cause Skryne problems all through the game. […]

Feis Cup. Group B – Round 4. St. Colmcilles 1-17 Skryne 0-15

CILLES GIVE SKRYNE THE BLUES St. Colmcilles 1-17 Skryne 0-15 Feis Cup. Group B – Round 4 Skryne travelled to Pilltown for this Feis Cup match against St. Colmcilles but came away empty handed after this defeat, their second in the competition. The scoreline probably doesn’t do justice to the effort the lads put into this game which was in the melting pot right up to the final whistle. In fact after 28 minutes of […]

Skryne too strong for Na Fianna Skryne 0-17 Na Fianna 2-08 Feis Cup. Group B – Round 3 After a sobering defeat to Simonstown last time out, Skryne needed a good performance in Fr McManus Park to get things back on track. Simonstown too hot to handle for Skryne Simonstown Gaels 2-11 Skryne 0-10 Feis Cup. Group B – Round 2 Simonstown is currently home to a Covid 19 vaccination centre. Skryne players and supporters were advised to use the back entrance to avoid crowds. Skryne U15s overcome a stern challenge from Navan O Mahonys in a fantastic Div 2 Final

Some photos and a report from this evenings game. Well done to the U15’s on a fantastic game. Skryne U15s final was set for Dunganny on the 12th of June. A game where neither team had last played competitive gaelic for 270 days in their respective Div 2 Semi Final. Looking at this game you certainly wouldn’t have thought that. Covid had been a torn in everyone’s side but the hard work with online classes […]

Group B – Round 1 It’s been 10 months since the Skryne Seniors lined out for their last competitive game. Since that last game, Ireland has been battling the relentless onslaught of Covid 19.
