Skryne Ladies Rule The Roost

Skryne Ladies took to the field for an away game against Balivor on Sunday evening 3rd July and came away well on top to register a win in the Junior B Championship for 2011. This was a sweltering hot evening with barely a puff of a breeze and given Skryne had the bare 15 players this was always going to be a tough task.  The absence of a number of key players did not help […]

Skryne beaten in feis cup

Summerhill 0-14 Skryne 0-8 Skryne’s run in the Feis cup came to an end Monday evening when Summerhill, playing at home, defeated them. Skryne played without Paddy O’Rourke or Ciaran Lenihan who are part of the Meath contingent for next Saturday’s game. The game was played in an almost continuous torrential downpour and undoubtedly had these conditions happened in the run-up to throw-in, then it would have been abandoned. Despite the appalling conditions both sides […]

Skryne Beat Walterstown in reversal of Championship defeat

Skryne 3 – 9, Walterstown 1 – 13 Having beaten their neighbours Skryne in the Senior Football championship only a week ago, Walterstown set out to keep the upper hand in this battle of two of the biggest rivals in Meath football. However this time the bragging rights went to Skryne, in a superb match played in almost perfect conditions in Walterstown today (Sunday 19 June). Ronan McCabe, who didn’t feature in last weeks match, […]

SFC: Walterstown topple champions

SFC: Walterstown topple champions 12 June 2011 Walterstown 0 – 12 Skryne 1 – 5. When you are champions everyone wants to beat you. When you are Walterstown playing neighbours, and the current champions Skryne, then there is a double reason for winning. Skryne who have already been beaten by St. Patricks, Stamullen, have now been beaten twice and depending on further results are in big trouble in this years championship. Walterstown dominated most of […]

JFC: Skryne loose out narrowly to Bective

JFC: Skryne loose out narrowly to Bective 12 June 2011 Bectice 1 – 9 Skryne 2 – 5; Played in a very wet conditions this game looked over at half time when Bective went in 1 – 7 to Skryne’s 1 point, having played with the help of a very strong wind. In fairness to Skryne some of their stronger players were held in reserve for the Senior match which followed. The match was somewhat […]
