Skryne Boys underage trialing for the Meath County team at Boys underage level.

By under8Manager Mon 2nd May

We are going to go though our panel of players for the Boys underage who are currently either on trials with there County or have been already picked. We are starting with the U14’s.

The Meath U14’s commenced last week and today and with Skryne currently on top in Div 1 position it is no surprise that there are plenty of players that are in to play for there County.

Well done on all the players who trialed out today.
They are as follows,
Alex Grendon a midfielder with plenty of speed a pace is one to watch in the future
Niall Finnerty a tough forward to mark with both a good left & right footed player. Not an easy one to mark.
Gary Browne really good defender who will make any forwards job a tough one.
David Rathbourne defends at all costs and will give 110 percent every time
Kristoffer Kinsella another tough cookie who will make sure you wont get by the defense for a shot.
Shane Smyth a player who covers every blade of grass and plays to the very end. One to watch for the future.
Sean Keogh having a fantastic year and is a strong forward. Having one of his best seasons
Niall Morland another fantastic forward with plenty of pace and speed.

Only back from injury is Sam Hawes who unfortunately was unable to attend but has to be one of the best defenders in the County. Its a pity that he is only back from injury but will definitely as some stage get a chance again.

The U14’s are a fantastic team with great skills. They will all be ones to watch in the future. Give them a challenge and they will gladly except it. Best of luck lads for the Meath U14’s trials.

Meath teams has always had a good representation from Skryne not alone the seniors with the likes of Paddy O Rourke, Harry Rooney and Mark Battersby but the underage where a lot of the senior players would have started from.

Up next we have the U15’s and U16’s. Jack Dardis who has only recently only been informed that he has made the Meath U15’s panel. Joe Traynor is the Manager of the U15s. Jack was also part of last years U14s Meath Panel and played really well. He is not a player any Forward would like to mark at County level. The best of luck Jack for the year ahead !!!

The U16’s trials is still ongoing and Colm Doherty who was part of last years U15s is still going through the motions this year with the panel. The Meath U15’s last year that Colm played with was very successful and played some top teams in the Country and always came out on the right side of the result. Colm is a fantastic player and like all Skryne players he plays till the bitter end. The best of luck Colm !!!

Now we move onto the U17’s and Minors who already have been picked to play with the Meath panel in both age groups. Also we have a Skryne player who is the Captain of the Meath minors. Well done to those that have made it and we have some players who are knocking on the door and no doubt will be there again.

For the U17s is Franky Carty who has made the U17s panel. A player who will punish you every time on an attacking role. Franky is down to play Dublin this coming Saturday and we wish him the best of luck.

Up next is the safe hands of Dean Reddy who is one of the best keepers around with his pin point accuracy on the kick outs and a brave keeper who won’t back out of a 50/50 ball.
Darragh Campion is this years Meath minor captain and what a honour this is. Its all down to the hard work and commitment that Darragh has given.
One of the youngest Minors is Robbie Clarke who still has a second year at Minor level. To be honest it comes at no surprise. If your a corner forward you need eyes on the back of your head as Robbie is one of the best in the Country. Plays fair and plays hard.
Eoin Smyth is one of the fastest half forwards around and like his younger brother he covers every blade of grass. A great player to watch.

Well done lads and all the best for 2016.
