Skryne 2 – 7

Dunboyne 1 – 7

A Mark Battersby goal halfway through the second period was the difference between the teams in Skryne on Friday night. Played under lights the Skryne men were first of the mark with a point by David Ryan straight from the throw in, followed by a goal on five minutes from Adam O’Sullivan. Dunboyne however equalised with a goal and a point of their own with the goal coming from a penalty. Three more points from Battersby, Davis and O’ Rourke saw the Skryne men go into the break 1 – 4 to 1 – 1 ahead. Skryne again scored immediatly on the resumption but Dunboyne hit the next two points to leave only two points between the sides. Battersby then struck for his goal and David Ryan followed up with his second point of the game to leave six points between the sides with ten minutes left. But Dunboyne were not going out without a fight and scored the next four points. However with 62 minutes gome Thomas McKeown put over a point to leave three points between the sides at the end.
