The Underage Boys season has kicked off with Skryne travelling to Ballymun Kickhams astro pitch that is beside Dublin Airport. A fantastic facility with a full size astro pitch and a club house. Skryne players and parents received a warm welcome.
The game throw in was for 1.00pm and it was a game played at a high tempo. Skryne found it hard at the start to find the rhythm they had finished with in 2017 as this was there first game of the season. Ballymun had a height advantage and were taller but Skryne had the pace also. The first half was won by Ballymun with them playing with the wind advantage.
The second half was different with Skryne getting momentum as the game went on. Some great point taking by all the players but score of the game has to go to Tom Lenihan who hit a hay maker of a shot into the top corner. As the game went on the lads played really well and were attacking the ball and play. It was a great game by two sporting teams and credit to Ballymun also who showed great discipline.
Afterward both teams headed to the club house for some Sandwiches, tea and cakes. A sincere thank you to Ballymun Kickhams G.A.C for being such great hosts. We look forward to having you in Skryne again.
