Skryne U14’s keep to there winning ways against Dunshaughlin.

What a performance and what a game for the U14’s this evening against Dunshaughlin in the Div 1 Rnd 3. The lads are really showing fantastic potential. The Game was played in Dunshaughlin in the fantastic new facilities. The evening was cold but the lads were on fire from the word go. The lads have yet to loose a competitive game and so far to date have gone 10 games unbeaten from winning the U13’s. This is some track record. Skryne played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and had to make sure of a perfect start. That they registered there first score with Shane Smyth who had a fantastic game on 2mins. Dunshaughlin struggled with Skryne’s pace as Shane Smyth registered the next score with a well taken free. Great credit has to go to the defence of Jack Swan, Gary Browne & Billy Reilly who didn’t give Dunshaughlin a sniff of the ball and broke down the attack of there opposition everytime. Sean Keogh was the first to register a goal and slotted it perfectly to the bottom right hand corner and left the keeper with no chance. This didn’t just give Sean a massive boost but also lifted everyone on the pitch. Shane Smyth scored a fantastic point with a well worked ball from the pacey Niall Moreland who covered every blade of grass. Dunshaughlin registered there first score on 13mins gone and were shell shocked. Sean Keogh was to register two points in 15mins and there was no stopping him. From 16mins to 21 mins was blistering from Skryne with Alex Grendon, Kristoffer Kinsella & David Rathbourne moving on the attack and giving inch perfect passes to the forward line which Niall Finnerty displayed his usual skills and pace. Dunshaughlin struggled to man mark him and he scored a handful when he registered 4 points one after the other. Dunshaughlin registered there second and only point for the second half on 24mins. Niall Finnerty was to finish the First half with a final point to leave the half time score 1-10 to 0-2 points in favor of Skryne.

Dunshaughlin now had the aid of the breeze and started brightly and registered two quick points. Did this phase the lads “Not one bit” A lovely fielding of a high ball by the safe hands of the Skryne goal Keeper who was having a great game and kick outs sent a long ball to the yongest of the Finnerty’s John. John had a great game and being the youngest in the team stood and played as well as the older counterparts. John gave a perfect pass to Niall who was pulled down in the box. It was a penalty for Skryne. Finnerty stepped up as cool as anything and buried it in the back of the net. Skryne went on the attack again and with Alex Grendon winning possession and had a fantastic game gave a ball to Niall Moreland and with Niall Finnerty coming like a freight train made the perfect pass for Niall to slot it over the bar. The next ball was worked in to Kian Reddy onto Paddy Wright and gave a lovely ball to Niall to register another score. The Corner Forwards worked tirelessly and Kian Reddy, Nathan Chawke, Scott Armstrong & Paddy Wright were exceptional. Oisin Keogh like his older brother had a superb game and still has a second year to go at U14’s. These young lads confidence has really grown and the hard work is definitely paying off. The Last goal of the game was to be registered by Sean Keogh again who left a long ball in and nestled in the back of the net. There are so many players that played so well. Not one of them lifted off for the whole game from 1-17 played some of the best football. Well done to you all and the next game is Monday 11th against Ratoath in Skryne. The 17 players who done themselves and there club proud is as follows,
