Well done to the Skryne Boys U14’s who had a tough encounter against St Pats of Stamullen. St Pats were short of players and Skryne had a good panel of players.
The game was played at Father Mc Manus Park on a good summers evening. The lads played some great football and worked the ball up the pitch well. Mark Swan, James Mangan & John O Regan bagged some scores early on. While John Finnerty with his trusty left foot worked the ball well up the field and at times scored some great points himself.
Skryne were in the driving seat early on and really should have been out of sight but to be fair to St Pats they were not going home without a fight.
With 10 Mins to go Skryne had an Eleven point lead. St Pats changed things around and three quick goals saw Two points in it.
The Skryne lads battled on and luckily the final whistle came.
Skryne were winners of an entertaining nail biting game.
Skryne go onto to play Dunboyne in the semi Final after topping the group.
