Skryne U16’s Div 1 Spring League Vrs Trim.

The Skryne U16’s played Trim on Monday 7th and with a game that they were hoping to win were unfortunate not to come away with something. Soft goals was to be the bitter blow but also on the other hand Alex Curran pulled off some exceptional saves and something that you would see at County level. The game was played in Trim and for the first time Skryne had there full panel for the first time in a long while with Niall Finnerty, Shane Smyth, Oisin Keogh all back from injury. Also Nathan Chawke was back also. All of this was a great boost for the team. Some fantastic points and from the start and Skryne had put down a marker in Trim. The quick link up of players saw the ball nestle in the back of Trims net very early on after Trim score two earlier points. Truth be told Skryne should have had a second goal only for the good goal keeping of the Trim Keeper; The game in the first half seemed to be getting away from them when Skryne bagged another goal just before half time.

The Second half got under way and the game was being played at a very high tempo. Both sides exchanged scores. But Skryne switched off for some time and they allowed Trim to get some crucial scores to extend the lead. Credit to Skryne they never gave in and the disappointment could be seen when the final whistle blew. Credit has to go to Andrew Smith a referee from Dunshaughlin who let the game flow as much as possible also and also used the advantage rule well.

The Skryne lads should be proud of effort put in.
