The 21st November 2020 marked the 21st anniversary of Skryne’s 1999 Keegan Cup victory over neighbours Dunshaughlin GAA in a year when the Championship final was delayed due to Meath’s All-Ireland Final win over Cork and also due to Trevor and Big Mac making the trip to Australia to represent and in Johnny’s case Captain Ireland in the Compromise Rules series.

Click the link below to view the Hogan Stand report on the 1999 Championship which culminated in Captain Fantastic Mick O’Dowd lifting the Keegan Cup for Skryne for the 11th time under the expert tutelage of Manager Eamon Giles.

The Skryne squad that lined out that day is full of club legends and if anyone takes a trip down to Fr. Mc Manus Park to see any of the underage, senior or ladies training sessions, you will find most of these lads still heavily involved with coaching and helping the next generation of stars to blossom. Indeed there are several of these lads still playing football for Skryne!!
